Dr. Chan + Sherene cared for our mom in the final months of her life, and there are not enough words to express our gratitude. From the very beginning, they treated her with such respect, gentleness, and genuine concern. They listened carefully to our questions, explained options clearly, and never made us feel rushed. What stood out most was their compassion. They understood how difficult this time was for our family and always approached my mom as a whole person, not just a patient. They adjusted her treatment thoughtfully, checked in on her comfort, and supported us as we navigated some very hard decisions. Because of them, our mom’s last months were handled with dignity and kindness. Our family felt seen, heard, and cared for every step of the way. We are deeply grateful for their professionalism, their empathy, and their heart. Five stars does not feel like enough.

Having a suite of concierge services to tailor to my father's increasing home care needs, resulted in my dad being peacefully comfortable right into his passing. Beyond Neighbours have been caring for my Dad since May 2024. Together we developed a specific care plan for Dad when he came out of the hospital and required a more personalized program. The health aids have provided both expert personal assistance and emotional support. In addition we had an occupational therapist visit who reviewed Dad’s program and offered suggestions to further aid him. After my husband’s double lung transplant, I was searching for respite to provide me with some support for his care. We interviewed several agencies until we came upon Beyond Neighbours. We contacted them and an appointment was set up immediately. There were no long waiting times or bureaucratic hoops to jump. The Director of Clinical Care met with us to learn about our situation and to discuss our specific needs. She then shared the range of services available to us, including preparation and administration of medications, nursing care, safety and companionship, personal care, meal preparation, daily exercise and specific physio training, light housekeeping, running errands, and transportation to and from appointments, to name a few. In addition to having had a double lung transplant, my husband is blind and therefore is unable to assist with many household chores. Beyond Neighbours’ services can accommodate all of my husband’s needs, thereby affording me time each day to attend to my responsibilities, including grocery shopping, laundry, personal appointments, visiting with friends, and exercise and leisure pursuits. The caregivers are exceptional and trained to address the specific needs of each client. Continuity of care is of paramount importance to the agency. The agency allows flexibility in scheduling, and provides services at a reasonable cost. We are delighted with our decision to engage Beyond Neighbours in providing care for my husband and support for me.

My mother had been in hospital for nearly 5 weeks after falling and breaking her arm, thus rendering her immobile since she couldn't operate her walker with arm. She was becoming weaker and weaker and I wanted to get her back home to her seniors' residence where she was more comfortable. They would not allow her to return without 24-hour care because she was so fragile. I called several home-care services and found Beyond Neighbours was the most attuned to our needs and helpful with services they could suggest to help my mother. I really didn't expect her to last very long; she was 96 years old and really seemed to have very little energy for living, but I at least wanted her to go comfortably in her own home, surrounded by family and familiar belongings. She received such excellent care from Beyond Neighbours staff, working in conjunction with the staff at her assisted-living residence, that she not only improved but actually reached a higher level of functioning than she had when she first went into hospital! She just celebrated her 97th birthday and is doing so well that she now only requires extra help for 12 hours instead of 24 (just to ensure she doesn't have a fall when she gets up in the night). She is more alert, lively and engaged than she has been in years, and we can thank the outstanding staff at Beyond Neighbours for that.

Without hesitation I fully endorse and recommend the services of Beyond Neighbours. Everyone who we were introduced to was professional, well trained and ultimately had the client's interest at heart. After years of Home Care for my Father, we had experienced everything from neglect and untrained workers, workers who failed to keep appointments and workers who were unprepared to deal with his needs. We needed to get care set up immediately for my mom who was being discharged from acute care. Rose did the assessment of care needed over the phone and came out with minimal notice to meet my mom and family and initiate care. Care was provided to my mom with such dignity and kindness and my mom was very pleased. I can’t say enough about this company and I did significant research before we hired them. The cost was comparable to other companies but the care was outstanding. I would use them again and have recommended them to other friends and neighbours. They are angels!! Diane

I’ve had a great experience with Beyond Neighbors since they started providing companionship for my mother. Their staff are bright, professional and responsive.
