Beyond Neighbours House Call Clinic
Calgary, Alberta, Canada  |  Last updated: May 5, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Beyond Neighbours House Call Clinic's services and website at beyondneighbours.com. By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them — we've written them to be understandable, not impenetrable.

If you have questions about anything here, just ask. We're reachable at hello@beyondneighbours.com or (587) 327-1812.

1. Our Services

Beyond Neighbours is a physician-led house call clinic providing in-home medical care, primarily for seniors in Calgary and surrounding communities. Our services include:

We are not an emergency service. If you or someone in your care is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Beyond Neighbours complements your care — it does not replace emergency services or critical care facilities.

2. Eligibility & Service Area

To access our services, you must be located within our service area: Calgary and surrounding communities within approximately 25km of the city centre, including Cochrane, Airdrie, Okotoks, and Chestermere.

Physician house call visits are an insured service under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). Patients accessing insured physician services must hold a valid Alberta Health Care card.

Before becoming a patient, we conduct a brief screening consultation to confirm that Beyond Neighbours is the right fit for your situation. We take this seriously — if we're not the right fit, we'll say so honestly and point you toward someone who is.

3. Appointments & Cancellations

We ask for reasonable advance notice — at least 24 hours — if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. House call visits require our team to travel to you; last-minute cancellations affect other patients who could have used that time.

Repeated missed appointments without notice may affect your continued enrollment with our clinic. We understand that circumstances arise — please just let us know as soon as you can.

To cancel or reschedule, call (587) 327-1812 or email hello@beyondneighbours.com.

4. Fees & Payment

Physician house call visits are billed to the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) for patients with a valid health card — there is no out-of-pocket charge for the medical visit itself.

Beyond Neighbours also charges a monthly clinic fee. This covers services not funded under the provincial schedule of medical benefits, including care navigation, coordination between providers, medical form completion, and patient and family education. The amount of this fee will be clearly communicated before you enroll.

Supplementary services — including nursing, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy — have their own fees, which vary by service. All fees are disclosed upfront. We don't believe in billing surprises.

Payment terms and accepted methods will be provided at the time of enrollment.

5. Patient Responsibilities

To make your care as effective as possible, we ask that you:

Good care is a two-way relationship. The more we know about your situation, the better we can help.

6. Limitations of Service

There are things we are not, and we want to be clear about that:

Using Beyond Neighbours does not create a duty of care beyond what is established in your patient relationship with our clinic.

7. Privacy

Your health information is personal, and we treat it that way. Beyond Neighbours handles patient information in accordance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Health Information Act (HIA).

For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your information, please see our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, graphics, and design — is owned by Beyond Neighbours House Call Clinic or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of it without our written permission.

Linking to our website is fine. Copying our content and passing it off as your own is not.

9. Limitation of Liability

Beyond Neighbours provides medical care with the skill and diligence expected of a reasonably competent physician. However, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or website.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for professional negligence or conduct where such limitation is not permitted by law. Alberta's healthcare regulatory framework governs professional obligations, and nothing here is intended to modify those standards.

10. Terminating the Patient Relationship

Either party may end the care relationship with reasonable notice. "Reasonable" depends on the circumstances — we will always ensure continuity of care is considered before ending a relationship, and we won't leave a patient without a transition plan.

We may need to end a care relationship in situations including — but not limited to — conduct that endangers the safety of our staff, consistent failure to meet patient responsibilities, or care needs that fall outside our scope.

If you wish to transfer your care elsewhere, we will facilitate the transfer of your records to the extent permitted by law and your instructions.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we'll post the revised version on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

If there are material changes to how we operate, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify active patients directly.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada. Any disputes arising under these terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

13. Questions & Contact

If anything here is unclear, or if you have concerns about our services, please reach out. We'd rather have a conversation than a misunderstanding.
