Dr. Trevor Chan

Dr. Chan has spent 18 years in hospital medicine and primary care, watching the system fall short for the people who needed it most. He kept seeing the same story: seniors falling through the cracks, discharged too early, medications mismanaged, nobody following up.

That frustration became Beyond Neighbours. His approach is holistic — he doesn't just treat symptoms, he takes time to understand the whole person in the context of their home and their life.

Dr. Chan leads a team that includes nursing staff, a physiotherapist, and an occupational therapist — your parent gets a care team, not just a doctor.

The house call is covered under Alberta Healthcare. However the clinic only works because of the ancillary team which the private fees cover. The initial assessment fee and monthly fee are the only costs you pay unless you are looking for additional home care or physiotherapy services.
Generally people aren't able to get to their doctor so we usually assume the role of family doctor. However we understand some relationships are special and our team can act like a trusted reporter to your family doctor in collaboration.
We currently serve Calgary and surrounding communities. Call us to confirm coverage in your area. We're expanding regularly.
Most new patients are seen within one to two weeks of their initial call. For existing patients we triage the nature of the call. If it is urgent we will organize same day if necessary. Less urgent calls can be seen within a few days or the next week.
We will refer you to the appropriate specialist like any regular family clinic.
